His father, Luis Manuel Meneses, is of Ukrainian origin, while his mother, Miroslawa ‘Marilyn’ (Tarandy), is of Mexican origin. Meneses’s father was a diligent worker and an inspiration to her. His siblings include two older brothers and one younger brother.
His heritage is a mix of Ukrainian and Mexican. She is a US citizen. Her grandparents had a circus and a grocery business. She previously said in an interview that her parents were not rich and could not afford luxury items when she was a child, but she did not know it. She smoked and caught snakes on the train tracks.
Meneses studied acting at Chicago’s The Second City Improvisational Theater during her summer vacation, graduated, and landed a modeling contract in Milan, Italy. She then returned to the United States and settled in Los Angeles, where she studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute.
