9 a.m. Sunday update – As expected, the wind machine is cranked up and running in high gear today.  We’ve already had winds gusting to 61 mph in Moline and Davenport!  Winds stay very strong through the evening and our High Wind Warning is in effect until 9 p.m.

10 p.m. update – The Flash Flood Watch has now been canceled.  That’s the good news.  The bad news?  Winds could end up gusting to 55 mph on Sunday and our Wind Advisory has now been upgraded to a High Wind Warning for Sunday.

Previous Post: After record setting rains on Saturday, we’re looking at strong winds on Sunday.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for winds that will gust to 50 mph on Sunday.

The advisory starts at midnight tonight and goes until 9 p.m. Sunday.

These strong winds are all part of a big storm affecting nillions of people.  Western Iowa has been under a Blizzard Warning for most of the day Saturday.  Heavy snow and strong winds have made safe travel nearly impossible for parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and parts of other states.
