AI-generated photos that have reimagined what the Barbie DreamHouse would like in every state have captivated TikTok users.
As the countdown for the Barbie movie premiere has begun, there has been a burst of promo materials, including TikTok filters, Starbucks drinks, exclusive snippets, and trailers. Images of Barbie DreamHouses customized for every US state are the latest trend on TikTok and fans are obsessed with the pictures.

BuzzFeed has come up with a complete list of Barbie houses in every state in the United States and the images have gone viral across social media.
The publication has teamed up with the independent AI company Midjourney to generate customized pictures of the DreamHouse with typical architectural features and characteristics of the relevant state.
The New York-inspired house is a true resemblance to the block apartment from Friends, the one in Alaska is a winter dream featuring a timber-clad home surrounded by snow and the Alabama house has the typical exterior look of historic properties in the state.
TikToker Brielle Vassil reviews the houses
The AI-generated images have created a huge buzz on the internet and many TikTokers have reviewed the houses.
TikTok user Brielle Vassil created several review clips and wrote that she is obsessed with the houses and “can’t stop thinking about living in these lil nuggets”.
Under one of her videos, one user called the Palm Springs house a “spot on” and another one said: “I’m so happy that I’m from South Carolina they really did us justice.”
“Arizona is spot on if it’s in Sedona,” someone else wrote. “The Illinois one looks just like the older houses in Chicago! Feels very nostalgic,” another TikTok user wrote.
“They could have made Florida cuter but it’s accurate,” someone else wrote.
The AI pictures were created by Midjourney
The DreamHouse images are an example of combining the hype building up the new Barbie movie with the digital trend of creating AI-generated images.
BuzzFeed partnered up with Midjourney, a San Francisco-based independent research lab that originally launched in July 2022 and operates with a small team of experts.
Most of the houses have managed to capture the typical features and architectural elements of properties of each respective US state.
Barbie will be available in theaters from Friday, July 21, 2023.
